I couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate my soon-to-be-launched website exclusively dedicated to my fine art work than to shoot a collodion wet-plate ferrotype to honor surrealist René Magritte. Magritte constantly challenged our preconceptions about reality and was a true progressive of his time.

To pay tribute to one of the iconic artists who has influenced my work, I decided to grace the Thomas Allcroft Gibson homepage (coming soon) with my interpretation of a famous portrait of Magritte by Lothar Walleh.

I wanted to sample the tone of his work to pay respect to his achievements and honor the style of his art.
