This series was inspired by Marcel Duchamp and Irving Penn, both creative icons of their time. I strived to take the simplest of objects and contrast them with the elegance of a discarded mannequin hand. The process that was employed is the early 1800’s wet plate Collodion process. These are printed from one of a kind original Ferrotypes/Tintypes.
The Ferrotype and Ambrotype processes were first introduced in the United Kingdom by the inventor Frederick Scott Archer in the late 1850’s. It was the precursor to dry plate which is or was todays film.
I hope you will enjoy this series!
